New Job at GD – 09/20/2010

Wow, what a Monday. I didn’t get to blog anything, so let’s see if I can remember what I had.

5:00 – CFPA

Strength – Thrusters: 53#(5) – 73#(3)- 93#(3)- 98#(F) – 98#(1) – 103#(1)

Metcon – 4x600m. My times were 2:39, 2:28, 2:33, 2:33. I had to do 10 burpees afterwards because there was a 5 second deviation from the first and second round.

7AM – Breakfast: 3 poached eggs with sauteed spinach and half an avocado

12PM – Lunch: Beef Patty with a large spinach salad. I forgot to put an egg in my patty!!!

5:35 – Snack: I just got home and I was starving! I ended up eating a celery stick with some turkey and chicken deli meat made by Applegate. I love this stuff!

6:30 – Scallops pan-fried in a bit a butter and steamed bok choy.

Shopping adventure with the BFF and Kids -09/19/10

Going shopping today for new fall clothes. I tried on some stuff at home so I know what size to buy. And yes, my belly does not look flat as it used to be, but maybe it never was?! I don’t remember exactly. I know I definitely don’t fit a size 2 dress at H&M.

8:00 – Breakfast: the last of my flank steak(5 slices) and roasted veggies. Hopefully it keeps me full till after shopping.

2:00 – lunch: started to eat my Mexican stuffed bell pepper, but I wasn’t feeling it, so I ended up eating turkey and salami slices. The turkey and salami were from Applegate, so all natural ingredients, no sugar, no nitrates, etc.

8:00 – Dinner:it was a hectic day, so we had a late dinner. I had so many leftovers from the week. Tonight, I finished the last piece of Ahi tuna with steamed beans tossed in a bit of butter. I did butter instead of coconut oil because tran doesn’t like the smell of coconut oil. Here’s a pic:

WWS Competition #2

Today is the second workout for the weekend warrior series competition. I’m a little nervous, but I can’t do anything about it. I have to try my best with the wall balls and make ever rep count.

I woke up pretty hungry this morning. I don’t think I ate enough, especially for lunch. Yesterday was the first day where I didn’t feel satisfied or full from my meals.

8:00 – Flank steak with roasted veggies

10:00 – PreWorkout Meal:3 slices of oven roasted turkey breast from applegate

11:30 – Weekend Warrior Seriers #2 – Fight Gone Bad Style

1 minute at each station: 145# deadlift, 65# Shoulder to Overhead, Row, and 14# wall ball. I didn’t do too well the wall balls because I’m 5 ft. It just sucked!!

12:15 – PWO Meal: Coconut Juice, baby carrots, and half a palm size of chicken

2:15 – Lunch: Got home and I was starving. I went grocery shopping after the competition, so I stopped by Whole Foods and Trader Joes. I had a roasted bell pepper, salad with dijon mustard and guac. The picture is below. I was still hungry!! I bought some pork carinatas for Tran from whole foods. It had like 4 ingredients in it, so it was Paleo approved(I forgot what the ingredients were). So I had a serving of the pork too. I’m trying not to eat anymore, but I can’t help it.

640- Dinner: pork loin with veggies.  I started eating before I remembered to take a pic.

Last Day at AST – 09/17/2010

Hectic morning, but I got to xfit. Sleep was ok. I woke up at 330 again, and couldn’t really go back to sleep. Left the house at 4:30.

5:00 – CFPA

Strength – Pull Ups: 5-5-5-3(bw+5#)-3(bw+5#)-3(bw+8#)

Metcon – 3x4Min Rounds 1 min rest between each round. 3 Power Cleans(93#), 6 push ups, 9 squats. I got a total of 17 rounds.

10:00- Breakfast: yes, it was late but I wanted to make sure I ate it. I had flank steak with roasted veggies, but I didn’t finish all of the veggies.

12:00- went to St Johns Bar & Grill. Suppose to be one of the best burger joints in town. I had a boring protein burger. Everyones burger looked spook delicious! If only I could have cheese with my lettuce wrapped burger, it would of been more satisfying. ;-) . Here’s a pic:

3:15 – I knew I’d get hungry real fast. I wasn’t quite sure what was for snack, because I don’t have a computer right now. So I had to find something in the fridge. 3 slices of turkey and 1/4 of an avocado. I think I’ll eat my left over veggies too.

6:20- ahi tuna with roasted veggies

It’s 8 right now and I want to snack!!! Man, this weekend is probably going to be the toughest part of the while week.

Last Day of Real Work at AST – 09/16/2010

Today will probably be my last day doing real work for AST. WOW, it’s been a fun 8 years, and I can’t believe I decided to make a “change”. I don’t do well with change, but hopefully this will be good for me. I’m not sure whether I want to go to any “good luck lunches”, because I’m on a strict meal plan this week. However, I might regret it if I don’t go…We’ll see.

Sippin’ on an americano w/ cinnamon this morning. Probably won’t drink all of it.

9:45 – Breakfast: Sauteed Spinach with 3 eggs and 1/4 of an avocado. The sauteed spinach feels a little too heavy for me. I think I’ll use coconut oil next time instead of butter.

10:30 – Couldn’t finish my food. Just a couple bits of egg and spinach left.

12:45 – Lunch: Still not too hungry, but I ate anyways. A spinach salad and my leftovers from last nights dinner(1 leg/thigh with half a serving of veggies)

5:00 – I started to thunk about snaking, so maybe it meant that I was hungry. I had half a can of tuna with a few slices of cucumber. I also had a small slice f the flank steak that I cooked for breakfast tomorrow.

7:30 – Dinner: went to yuki sushi for Bev’s bday dinner, and I told the girls I couldn’t eat rice. I love this place because they are accommodating to my paleo/primal ways. For starters we had the spicy tuna tartar. I tried to pick around the spicy sauce, and mainly ate pieces of salmon, tuna, and avocado.

For the main course, I ordered 3 rolls without rice. I had a salmon & avocado maki, ebi & avocado maki, and tekka(tuna) maki. I asked the waiter to add cucumber to the rolls.

We also ordered hamachi sashimi, and I probably had 5 pieces.

I think I did good and stuck to the plan. Could of had more veggies for dinner. What do you think Summer?

3 more days until a new beginning – 09/15/2010

I have 3 days left until I start at a new company. I’ll miss the people at Applied Signal Technology, but it’s definitely time to move on, and start fresh. WOW, it took me 8 years to change jobs. Hopefully I won’t have to do it too often, but we will see what the future holds.

Sleep – I went to bed at 8:30 last night and woke up at 3:30. I couldn’t really fall back asleep, and got out of bed at 430. 7 hours…not bad right?

5:00 – CFPA

Strength – Deadlift: 83#(5) – 123#(3) – 153#(5) – 173#(3) – 193#(3) – 183#(3) – This felt good, but Tim said I rounded too much with the 193#, so I should go down in weight and work on form.

Metcon – 500 m row, 30 sandbag clean-shoulder to shoulder, 400 m run – 7:40

I got 1:59 for the 500 m row!!! WOO HOO! Finally under 2:00.

6:00 – PWO Meal: half a palm size of chicken breast. I’m also sippin’ on a Tall Americano from Starbucks. I miss my soy chai lattes and caramel macchiatos!! LOL.

9:30 – Breakfast: Same as yesterday, 3 fried eggs with sauteed spinach and half an avocado

11:30 – Ran 3.76 miles with Steve. Our “good-bye” run. :-(

1:00 – Lunch: turkey pattie with a large spinach salad. I just realized today that I was suppose to make 4 burgers… NOT 3! The burgers were suppose to be palm size. BOO, for not reading instructions carefully.

7:45 Dinner: My dinner was huge! I wasn’t even that hungry, so I only ate 1 leg/thigh and half the veggies. Since I messed up on the patties, I’ll save the other leg/chicken and veggies for lunch. Here is a pic of what I wad suppose to eat:

Tuesday Ramblings – 09/14/2010

I went to bed at 8:30 probably, and Mason was crying again at 10:30. We didn’t get him settled until 12, and I went back to my bed around 1. Had some weird dreams that I was in NY, and I woke up at 4. Felt stressed out in my dream, so I would say that sleep sucked!

9:45 – Breakfast: 3 fried eggs with sauteed spinach and half an avocado. Had an americano this morning with some cinnamon on top. I didn’t finish it yet, and don’t think I will. No picture, because it’s the same thing as yesterday. ;-)

1:30 – Lunch: Turkey burger with large spinach salad

I ditched out on my workout today. Steve couldn’t run with me today, so we are running tomorrow.

4:00- took a 40 minute walk with Mason.

6:00 – Dinner: 1serving of chicken(the other chicken breast) and a whole lot of veggies!  I didn’t finish the chicken because I was FULL!.

Monday Reset – 09/13/2010

I sort of love Mondays, because it resets me from a weekend of bad eating.  I know I have 5 days to be good.  Now the goal is to spill those 5 days of good work into 7 days of good work.  I just got my new nutrition plan from Summer, and I should start this now.  I’m going to try to post pictures of what I’m eating.

Sleep was terrible last night.  Mason cried at 1AM.  Not sure why, but he stopped, then he cried at 3AM, and ended up in our room.  He didn’t fall back asleep until a little after 4AM.

5:00 – CFPA

Strength – Thrusters: 33#(5), 53#(5), 63#(5), 73#(3), 83#(3), 93#(3)

Metcon – AMRAP: 20 1 Arm KB Swings(16kg), 200m run – 6 rounds plus 4 swings

7:30 – 2 slices of deli turkey meat from applegate

11:20 – Breakfast: Got a late start, but this is meal #1 on my meal plan.  I was able to whip this up in less than 10 minutes.  I didn’t have shallots on hand for the Sautéed Spinach, so I used red onions.

2:45 – A turkey patty with spinach salad with bell peppers, cucumbers, and 1 tomato.  Dressing was olive oil, balsamic vinaigrette, and dijon mustard.  This was YUMMY!  Loved it!

5:45 – Debated on eating the snack because it’s so close to dinner, but I figured I should stick to the meal plan, and eat all the calories.  Tuna, cucumber, and avocado.

7:30 – Dinner: I made my dinner this afternoon.  Roasted a whole chicken with veggies using Emeril’s Essence Spice Mix.  It was delicious, and can you believe that I didn’t finish all the chicken breast!  I was so full, so I left a piece for a post workout meal.

Here is the chicken out of the oven.  This whole chicken will be my dinner for 3 nights.

Sue’s Surprise Bridal Shower – 09/12/2010

I had a great time with the girlfriends today.  But wow, did I go on a bender!  Sweet Sweets and more Sweets!  I was doing so well, then I just gave in!  WTH!

9:00 – nectarine

11:30 – Omelette with spinach and tomatoes from left bank.  I had a small bite of the egg salad from Jan’s sandwich.  I did so good here.

2:00 – At Sakura Nail Salon I had lots of fruit, probably 1.5 cupcakes, 1 slice of chocolate mousse cake, and a few sips of Mimosa

5:00 – a few pieces of steak at Cess’s house

7:00 – Protein burger from In-n-Out(had spread on it, they forgot to NOT put it)  Also had some moon cake!  BLEH!

After looking at this pic, I look so round, especially in my face and tummy!  I feel like I’m pregnant, just like a year a go when I really was pregnant!

Weekend Warrior Competition #1 – 09/11/2010

Today is the first competition in the Weekend Warrior Series.  It’s going to be tough for me, but I should be able to get through it.  We are competing against the Crossfit San Jose team in Campbell.

8:30 – 3 fried eggs with 1 cup of spinach.  3/4 of an apple with sunbutter

10:00 – 2 oz of turkey deli meat

11:30 – The Gauntlet: 3 rounds of 20 KB Swings(1.5 pood), 25 box jumps(24″), 10 pull ups, 15 burpees(jumping over 45# bar).  Our time was 19:58.  It was tough, but we finished!!  WOO HOO!

12:00 – PWO Meal: Coconut water, beef jerky

1:00 – chicken salad with cranberries and pistachios and 1 hot wing.  Couldn’t stop snacking, so I had some fruit, then 3/4 of a moon cake!  BAD, but oh well

7:00 – Went to sweet tomatoes.  Medium salad, some chicken soup, and then 3 blueberry muffins, nibbles of other muffins, and 2 slices of sourdough bread.  Felt like I needed it.  I know, bad bad bad, but not feeling guilty.
